Heartfelt THANKS to ALL!!

Teresa, Denise, and Cary wanted all to know that they continue to remain hopeful and excited about the state of the race. Of course we wish we could avoid all weather risks, mechanical hiccups, and unexpected costs with operating any kind of airplane but it is simply not realistic. Planes are complicated and racing them thousands of miles puts the crews and machines through a lot of harsh conditions that local recreational pilots rarely face doing touch and go's at their home airfield.

The crew is humbled by the out-pouring of support from friends, family, even race competitors that simply want to see the pretty purple bird finally arrive at Prescott no matter what. The team can't thank the Belen, NM folks enough for their invaluable aid and encouragement. They located the alternator, found the fastest way to get it overnighted and picked up, and amazingly even arrange for a mechanic to work on a Saturday morning to effect repairs.

We WILL overcome this problem. The race officials are reviewing the request for late delivery and we will advise as soon as we have an answer. In the meantime 'DO AS THE CREW DO' - Smile, Relax, and ENJOY life's ride ... no matter how bumpy it becomes!
