LUCKY Purple Hearts

This will be yet again a challenging day. The ladies have a lot of ground to cover still and though there is fun and adventure packed in every mile, there is also an element of good fortune. We wanted to take a minute to acknowledge the incredible outpouring of 'atta-girl' and positive thoughts, comments, and fan support as the 'Hearts' wind their way around the race route. The ladies truly READ and cherish every one of your comments and wanted you to know how much your support for the team and their official charity 'Operation Homefront' has really propelled them to keep going even when the odds, weather, and equipment sometimes seems out of reach.

As illustrated over the last few days, all the team have trained hard to overcome nearly any set-back but no matter how skilled the team, in racing sometimes unforeseeable surprises will happen. Our collective good will goes out to 'TEAM #38 Red or Green' for their incredible off-field landing, South of Warrensburg, MO, after they experienced an engine malfunction at altitude. The team tried to make the airport but with great skill the duo brought the Cessna 182 down in a hay field with NO LOSS OF LIFE. In the entire modern history of the Air Race Classic, there has NEVER been a fatality and we are extremely happy that the tradition continues - GREAT JOB LADIES!!

On a more positive note we are proud to report that the website stats continue to grow daily with 6/22/2016  hitting a record 650 page loads in a single day. That is up nearly double from the start of the race and about six times the daily interest we had after the Purple Hearts had their television interview in Connecticut a mere week ago. As always we are humbled and sincerely appreciate your growing interest and support of our favorite pilot trio - the PURPLE HEARTS.
